2010 European Hardcourt Bike Polo Championship

Sunday, September 13th, 2009

With the Euro’s, North American’s, and the World’s all under our belt it’s time to get ready for 2010.

Who will host the 2010 EHBPC? I hear Barcelona is interested, have also heard from Berlin and Zurich. But who’s going to step up to put a bid together?

If you’re interested in hosting, we’ll support you! You’ll get a handover from the 2009 committee and we’ll always be on the other end of the phone.

To bid, get together with your community and decide what you have to offer and who’s going to stand up to offer it.

You can post your bid on the EHBPC forum here:

Are you a European polo player? Then you can vote on where you think the 2010’s should be and who you think should host it. Register on the forum and get involved.

We the 2009’s will host a vote once the bids are in.

Congratulations to the winners

Brendan from Bad Polo and Blunt Films streamed many of the games from the EHBPC on the web. If you would like to see what all the fuss is about you can get a bit of an idea by checking out the footage here.

And here’s a mini movie of a few highlights from one of our great teams, Three Less Horses.

Want more polo? (grass is good too!)

This Just In!!

Friday, July 31st, 2009

Saturday night’s party has changed to 85-97 Curtain Rd, Cordy House EC2A 3BS. Still hosted by 14Bike Co. from 8:00pm to 2:00am.

Check out our courts!

Friday, July 31st, 2009

Well it was a good 10 hours work with loads of people helping out, but we’ve accomplished something great.

You can follow what else we get up to on Twitter!

Holy crap, where did all of you come from?!

Friday, July 31st, 2009

Wow, so Europe has descended on London. Fantastic!! Our south London polo court was filled with players from France, Germany, and England last night. I managed to meet up with the fabulous boys from Karlsruhe last night on Brick Lane for curry. In bed by 3am and up at 8am, woo!

Today is just going to be too exciting. We have the court build happening today and all the stands going up. I’m really excited about the surprise that Knog has cooked up. You’ll have to wait till tomorrow to see that!

So I’ve updated the itinerary. Please check it out. Players not to the courts by 8am Saturday and Sunday risk forfeiting games. Make sure you’re there.

The other main point for players is you must be at registration between 6pm-8pm tonight at Tour de Ville. The sooner we finish this the sooner I can go to the pub!

Get to Tour de Ville today for BBQ and Beers. There is also a tour of London at 3pm from our own Shinscar. Let this guy know you want to take the tour and he will make sure you get all your tourist needs satisfied before play begins tomorrow.

All you polo lovers out there should also be checking out the itinerary as the parties have all been updated. Whether you’re playing or not, I hope you join us for the piss ups! Crumpler, Shop 14 and Tour de Ville have all got lovely events planned for us.

Lots of you are asking for directions to and from places. That’s great! You can always check out our map.

I can’t wait to meet all the players flying in today, see you at Tour de Ville.

Alright so that’s it for now. I have to go to the courts now, but I will try to update you all often.

Hardcourt is simply exploding in popularity now. I know that I’m preaching to the choir with most of  you but hell this photo pretty much says it all.

Polo is everywhere!

The picture credit on the bbc says "John Barrowman joins the cast of the musical La Cage aux Folles in London's West End, playing drag queen Albin/Zaza."
